PORT GIBSON CHRISTMAS PILGRIMAGE

Come and celebrate the Holidays in Port Gibson during Port Gibson’s Christmas Pilgrimage, December 8th & 9th.

New this year the White House, former home of Chamberlain-Hunt Academy’s president (1904). The famous Allen Collection of photos of life in Port Gibson from 1906-1915  will also be featured at City Hall (c. 1838).
Other homes on tour will be the Gutherie Home (c. 1840) at 703 Church Street; Isabella’s (c. 1880) at 1009 Church Street; Tremont (c. 1840) at 1108 Church Street; Collina (c. 1835) at 100 Greenwood Street; and the Butler Home (2010) on Highway 61 North.
 

Churches included will be the First Presbyterian (1860) Chassed Synagogue (1891) with its combination of Moorish, Byzantine, and Romanesque architecture, St. James Episcopal Church (1884), St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (1851), First Baptist Church (1895) and Port Gibson United Methodist Church (1859).
 

DATES AND TIMES
Dates for this Christmas Pilgrimage will be December 8th and 9th with tickets sold ($20 for one-day pass) at the Port Gibson Chamber of Commerce at 1601 Church Street. Hours will be from 10 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the 8th and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the 9th. For advance tickets, call the Port Gibson Chamber at 601-437-4351.
Lunch will be available at Isabella’s (1009 Church Street) between the hours of 11:300 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both days.
Come and enjoy seeing Port Gibson dressed in her Christmas finery. What a great way to get into the Holiday spirit!
